Over the last couple of days!

Over the past few days it has been awesome! We have stayed at Willcannia, Mutawintji and an evening at Silverton. Now we are back at Broken Hill.
For me, Mutawintji was the best place, in every direction you looked, it was beautiul. we saw these breath taking gorges and went on a long walk, which had some of the best views you could ever see, it was truly amazing.
Our evening at silverton was also cool. we watched this fantastic sunset. im sort of a fussy eater but because Kylie has been encouraging me to try and eat different food, i now like; hotdogs, hamburgers and rissoles, which are all foods that i thought weren't very nice but now there something that i wouldn't mind eating.
all together the trip has actually been fun. i have really enjoyed myself.

back in broken hill

well, we've returned to broken hill, after many adventures. this morning i was swimming up a narrow gorge in mutawintji national park; ash, and henri were chasing mountain goats up the walls of the gorge, quiet times were happening on cliff tops and in caves and by pools. this afternoon we wandered around a largely closed silverton and then watched the sun set over the mundi mundi plains - kind of the end of the earth. yesterday we spent exploring the gorges and rock pools of mutawintji. the day before that we had learnt some indigenous dances (alex and kara were very convincing emus, dave and stef learnt a shame dance, and ash made a great kangaroo), kaz and i spent a long time lying on the verandah at the wilcannia hospital overlooking the darling; and we learnt about solar power generation, opals and underground living at white cliffs.
we've painted the drop in centre at wilcannia, learnt some indigenous games, slept in the shearing quarters at kinchega national park and been rained in at menindee lakes.
aaron returned to us today after the birth of his third child: sophie grace arabella.
i'm attempting to upload some photos now, although i think initially it'll only be a few.
tomorrow we're going to go op shopping in broken hill and explore a little, then play some wide games in the creek bed.
we're heading to swan hill on sunday. hopefully in the next 24 hours some of the crew will share some of their experiences with you.
please post messages if you read this, it's great to have that interaction.

The best and funniest things on tour so far.

So far on this trip we have been working on farms doing things like pulling down fences and renovating homes and riding on the back of a ute. The best part so far of this trip would probably be working on farms, the desert camp and getting to Broken Hill after the 11 hour drive here. We also had fun playing games on the desert camp and staying at Cornerstone in Broken Hill. When we arrived at Broken Hill we had pizza for dinner and it was so delicious. On Wednesday we were playing soccer in the street and that was fun. Then we played volleyball which was really great. Today were heading to Menindee Lakes.

Working on farms!

We have been learning heaps of awesome things on the tour so far. It has made us all realise just how easy we have it back home. The first week we were working with farmers on various properties and just helping them out. We have done things like plant trees, build fences, demolish fences and pick weeds. It has also been very cool going into the dairy farms and learning heaps of different things about cows. Things from how to milk them to how to do an AI on a cow. Overall it has been an eye opening experience so far for most of the group and a life changing one.

the crew working hard

and as always, looking good...

a very brief overview of what's been happening

hey... well, we haven't done very well at keeping you in touch. i've had no access to my computer, and now we finally have web access we're about to disappear into the desert for a few days. we've just spent 5 days in numurkah, 3 of those working on farms. we've planted trees, put up fences, pulled down fences, chipped thistles, and witnessed a varitey of calf birthing episodes, with varying degrees of success. we attended numurkah anglican church saturday night and sunday morning, and the church of christ youth group on friday night... i'll add a comment ruth wrote after the first evening now...

Farewell Geelong

Well, if all goes according to plan, we should be leaving tomorrow to journey to Numurkah in the Goulburn Valley. We're going to stay at the Anglican Church in Numurkah and visit local farms to help out in any way we can. We'll be updating and checking the blog when we can, and would love messages and comments. Thanks heaps to all those people who are praying for us, we really appreciate it.
